Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital, established in 1995, is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife in South Florida. Located within Sportsplex Park, the center treats over 850 native animals annually and provides a sanctuary for those that cannot be released back into the wild. Visitors can explore the center through guided tours, learning about the various species and the importance of conservation.
The center offers environmental outreach programs aimed at educating both children and adults about local wildlife and ecosystems. The permanent exhibits feature a variety of animals, including birds, mammals, and reptiles, offering an up-close look at species that have become “Educational Ambassadors” for their kind. The tranquil setting and the opportunity to see wildlife up close make it a memorable visit for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
